How do I care for my flowers?
Place your flowers in a clean vase large enough to allow the stems to reach at least half way down. Fill the vase three-quarters with lukewarm water and the flower food provided. Do not use metal containers if using flower food, as metal can neutralise the food’s beneficial effects.
Remove any fronds and leaves which lie below the water level; these will decompose and contaminate the water, killing off your flowers.
To prolong vase life change the water every 2 days.
Why should I use flower food?
Flower food is essential to prolong vase life. It contains three essential additives which prevent formation of bacteria and promotes healthy stems:
Sugars feed your flowers and promote buds
Biocides deter fungi, bacteria and yeast
Acidifiers encourage water to ride up the flowers’ stems
Why cut stems at a 45 degree angle?
By cutting your stems at a 45 degree angle this creates a larger surface area for water absorption, hence your flowers will stay fresh for longer
How will room temperature affect my flowers?
Place your flowers in a light cool position away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, radiators and other appliances that give off heat as your flowers will fade.
Can I send my order anonymously?
At Funky Floral Design we would never reveal your identity should you wish us not to. By law, we also adhere to and protection which stops any of your personal information being disclosed.
However, if the recipient believes the flowers are from a person meaning them seriously harm please ask them to contact the police whom, we will then reveal the identity to them.
Refund Policy
If you are not satisfied with the product you ordered once it is delivered, please call our team on 01706 521252. We will review your comments you have and should the cause be related to circumstances within our control, we will consider a full refund and re-delivery of your chosen product.
Naturally we are working with fresh seasonal ingredients that are often affected by the climate and can as such, have unpredictable availability. If we are for any reason, we are unable to fulfil your chosen product, or elements in it, we will work with the florists to substitute the affected ingredients using the most appropriate alternative to ensure your fresh flowers have a similar colour, style, shape and size.
If the product you ordered was damaged on receipt, we will offer a full refund and re-delivery of the product at the next convenient date for your recipient.
In the event of non delivery as the recipient is unavailable, we will attempt to make contact by telephone by using the contact number(s) given on the order to arrange redelivery. Failing this we will leave a calling card with instructions for the recipient to make contact to arrange re-delivery. If following a second delivery attempt, we are still unable to deliver, we regrettably are unable to offer a refund or complimentary re-delivery. Can I order over the phone? Where do you deliver to? Can I order same day for delivery? What happens if the recipient is not present at the time of delivery? Do you have a shop I can visit? Is the Funky Floral Design Website secure? Yes all orders must be placed by 11am for same day delivery.
If the recipient is not at home at the time of delivery we will attempt to leave the flowers securely on the property. If that is not possible, we will try to leave the flowers with a neighbour. Either way a card will be left at the recipient’s address to inform them where the flowers have been left. In the event that we are unable to leave the flowers securely on the property or with a neighbour, we may call the recipient (if you have given us their phone number when you complete the checkout) or we may call you to ask you for your input. If we are not successful, the flowers will be brought back to Funky Floral Design and we will contact you to arrange a redelivery.
